SDSN Germany

ABOUT US

The Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Germany promotes sustainable development in Germany, the EU and at the international level and is funded by the Federal Environment Ministry. It works in a cross sectoral manner and acts as a platform bringing together perspectives by leading German scientific organisations, civil society (science-civil society-policy interface) and businesses. The Chairs of the Steering Committee of SDSN Germany are Prof. Dr. Anna-Katharina Hornidge and Prof. Dr. Gesine Schwan. The Members of SDSN Germany are also Members of the Global SDSN that was founded in 2012 under the patronage of the Secretary General of the United Nations.

WHAT WE DO

Our work is based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Agenda 2030 of the United Nations, the Paris Climate Agreement and the German Sustainability Strategy. Our objective is to provide independent, science-based policy recommendations spanning all dimensions of sustainability. SDSN Germany therefore facilitates dialogue and exchange between relevant stakeholders and policymakers and works in a transdisciplinary and intersectoral manner.
